While going completely meat-free could be a bit of a stretch for some of us, swapping just a few meals per week for a vegan alternative is a great step in the right direction. The best part? With so many amazing cafes and restaurants offering great plant-based options nowadays, going meat-free doesn’t have to mean missing out on anything.

Drawing the hippest vegetarians and vegans from across London, Farmacy in Notting Hill serves up an eclectic menu in a cool, modern space. Here, the ethos is simple: food should be nourishing, healthy and above all, delicious. Try the Mexican Bowl — bursting with colour and topped with dairy-free sour cream — and don’t miss the guacamole, which is perfect served with a side of sweet potato falafel. Or, skip the mains and go straight for the raw chocolate tart (which is refined-sugar-free), the perfect sweet treat to enjoy alongside one of the chic cocktails from the Alchemy Bar.
From its Soho beginnings almost thirty years ago, to additional locations now in Camden, King’s Cross and Dalston, Mildred’s is one of London’s best-loved vegan restaurants. The menu offers plant-based eaters a rainbow of options, making sure that eating clean never has to be boring. Try the famous halloumi burgers, enjoy a spicy Sri Lankan curry, and finish it all off with a crazy-delicious peanut butter chocolate mousse cake.
One of our go-to Instagram icons for several years now, we can’t get enough of Deliciously Ella‘s Marylebone deli. With thoughtful dishes designed to boost your mood and nourish your soul, our favourites include the Thai yellow coconut curry with brown rice, or the harissa aubergine with broccoli and quinoa. The breakfast menu is another must-try — don’t go past those sweetcorn fritters!
Wulf & Lamb
“Run with the wolves, eat with the lambs” is the very-fitting slogan for Chelsea’s plant-based eatery, Wulf & Lamb. Here you’ll find amazing breakfast plates alongside hearty main meals, including a smoky and delicious vegan rendition of chilli con carne, with spiced mushrooms, lentils and kidney beans. Other favourites include the aromatic and warming coconut sweet potato curry, and the famed passion fruit cheesecake (sans cheese, of course!)
A recent addition to ever-hip Shoreditch, Genesis is a plant-based counter service eatery that showcases the best of the world’s street food classics. From Indian street snack Aloo Tikka Chaat, and shawarma with Israeli salad, to tacos filled with jackfruit and fried avocado, the food here is colourful, creative and served against an Instagram-worthy interior of pastel pink tiles and neon signs.
